The call for program applications is now open.
The Lifelong Learning Council of Red Deer puts out a call for applications once a year. Those applications are reviewed by our Grant Allocation Committee and approved by our Board of Directors. Our grant year runs between July 1st and June 30th.
The LLCRD Call for Applications will be available between December 1st and February 1st.

Grant Criteria
In order to receive CALP funding agencies must be a legal entity incorporated for a minimum of two years under one of the following Alberta Statutes: The Societies Act, Part 9 of the Companies Act, the Libraries Act, the Métis Settlements Act, and the Post-Secondary Learning Act. Agencies must also operate as effective not-for-profit service organizations with sound practices in governance, and in the planning and management of programs, finances, and personnel.

Community Capacity Building
The Lifelong Learning Council of Red Deer funds non-profit organizations to deliver non-credit, part-time adult learning programs for barriered learners. These social and economic barriers may include:

Low literacy or learning challenges;

Cultural or social isolation, including English language challenges facing newcomers to Alberta or other barriers to participating in the community;

Lack of resources or confidence to access information and services to support their own learning, such as participating in learning opportunities for a fee, seeking out information at the library or online, seeking assistance from other agencies;

Low income, housing, mental health or other personal or family challenges.
